The Penguin Lessons - Movie Night at the Wellcome Genome Campus

Join us for an exciting movie night to watch 'The Penguin Lessons', a comedy drama starring Steve Coogan and Jonathan Pryce, in Hinxton Hall's stunning conference centre and auditorium.

The Penguin Lessons is a 2024 comedy drama starring Steve Coogan and Jonathan Pryce. It is based on the 2015 memoir by Tom Michell who, in 1975, rescued an oil-covered penguin in Uruguay and smuggled it back to the boarding school in Argentina where he taught, naming it Juan Salvador. This true story shows the unlikely friendship between the teacher and the penguin, which became a beloved mascot and symbol of hope for the school community. Watch the trailer for a movie taster - https://youtu.be/0A_C3MT3uyA.

The Hinxton Hall Conference Centre is typically used by the scientific research community but on 30th September it becomes a cinema for the night! Come and join us in our auditorium, with its striking contemporary architecture.

Popcorn and drinks will be available for purchase, however only popcorn can be taken into the auditorium.
